i speak veganese
Hey, I haven’t burned the house down yet!Ten Reasons A-Okay
I figure if I can come up with ten good reasons for being a veghead that I could refer to, I wouldn’t have such a hard time making the transfer to such a new diet-and sticking to it.
1. Vegetarian/Vegan diets appear to be a much healthier than meat-based diets.
2. The brutality that I saw in the documentary videos on various websites was difficult to stomach-let alone the meat.
3. Both of my grandmothers died of colon cancer and it seems vegetarians/vegans have less occurences of this as their diets are more fiber-based.
4. Diabetes has also run in my family to a certain extent. It seems that the vegetarian/vegan diet might help to avoid this.
5. When I wake up in the morning, I don’t feel that sickening, knawing hole in my stomach anymore!!!! This is BIG for me.
6. Because I have many more options to choose from now! I’ve been eating foods that I would never have imagined trying before (whereas, as a meat-eater, my husband and I would constantly be saying, “We had that yesterday,” when discussing dinner options).
7. Because I’m better at cooking sides than meat anyway, lol.
8. Because I don’t get so sleepy after a meal anymore.
9. Because it supports my newly developed (and developing) fitness habits.
10. Because it’s worth a try.
